If you don’t want strangers in your car, lock your doors.

Late the other night as I was returning alone to my car after watching Batman Begins, I noticed that the car parked next to mine had its lights left on. One of the doors was unlocked, and there was no one around, so I let myself in to turn the lights off.

Almost everyone thinks I’m nuts for doing so. Well, at least I didn’t get myself arrested or shot.

  2. So did you leave the door locked or unlocked?

  3. Hm, maybe the movie did influence me. I hadn’t thought about that.

And I left the door unlocked.

  4. Batman would have locked the door.

  5. By the way, was it a newer model car? The lights turn off and doors lock automatically with newer cars… unless some jerkass opens the door.

  6. No, this was a pretty old, beaten-up car. It didn’t have power locks.

If it were a new car, I probably wouldn’t have touched it in case it had a car alarm.

  7. Was Batman Begins any good?

  8. I thought Batman Begins overall was okay. The first half was great, but the second half seemed a little goofy. The implausible supervillain scheme that involved really bad movie physics was my main complaint. I liked it better than any of the previous Batman films, though.
